ROMEO & JULIET
17"W X 22"H POSTER
Completed while in school at Loyola University New Orleans. I leave this in my portfolio because it's simply one of my favorite pieces. The challenge here was to create a poster for a modern interpretation of the classic play.
I focused on the bittersweet emotion that is felt throughout the play. The nightengale is a recurring symbol throughout the play. The scene here revisits the narrative of the play's final act. Everything is in sad, autumn colors, set against a stark background of negative space. The tiny branches are actually made up of the text containing the time and date information, inviting the reader to take a closer look.
